By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
CLEVELAND - Investigators said Monday they believe a 14-acre grass fire in White County Sunday was caused by a catalytic converter on a car or truck and a 45-acre blaze Friday was started by lightning.

The Sunday afternoon fire occurred on Hester Road near Eli Knob Road and it took firefighters from White County and Cleveland almost seven hours to extinguish.

The Friday night blaze was on Danny Palmer Road was was probably started by lightning, according to the commission. It took about seven hours to put that fire out, as well.
