GAINESVILLE - Gainesville Mayor Myrtle Figueras spent a couple of hours in her office Friday morning visiting with constituents.
The Mayor invited people to drop by between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. to talk with her about anything on their mind dealing with city government.
"I just believe that if all of us are educated to government then all of us will know better and have less to fuss about," she said.
As visitors walked in, Figueras showed off the dozens of awards the city has won over the past two years.
"Young people from all departments have come," she said.
Figueras said members of the different city departments enjoyed seeing the honors that had been bestowed on their colleagues.
The "open house" marked the end of Georgia Cities Week.
