DAHLONEGA -- Chad Fulton delivered a walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Lumpkin County to a thrilling 15-14, come-from-behind win over Creekview Tuesday in a key Region 7-AAA game.
The Indians (18-3, 16-3 Region 7-AAA) trailed 10-3 heading into the bottom of the third inning but rallied for 11 runs over the final five innings. Devin Dunson had a grand slam to help get the rally started and Kyle Lovell also had a three-run home run for Lumpkin County. Blake Sargent had two RBIs late to keep the Indians in the game.
The loss snapped Creeview's (17-3, 16-2) 10-game win streak. The Grizzlies, however, still maintain a slim half-game lead over Lumpkin County and lead Flowery Branch by 1 1/2 games for first place in the region with five games left in the regular season.
David Weber earned the win for the Indians going 4 2/3 innings in relief of starter Lovell. Weber allowed just two runs on three hits.
The Indians travel to East Hall on Wednesday while Creekview plays host to Johnson.
