GAINESVILLE -- The Lakeview Academy baseball team took a win over Prince Avenue Christian 8-7 on Friday night in Gainesville.
Taylor Simpson was the winning pitcher for Lakeview (11-1, 5-0 Region 8-A). Simpson had five strikeouts and allowed just one walk. Also, pitching for Lakeview were Jacob Whitenton and Ralston Cash. Cash earned a save with his appearance, striking out two.
Lakeview's Ross Biegler went 4-for-4 at the plate and drove in three runs. Cash was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Nick Saye was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Lakeview will travel to Hebron Christian at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
