COLUMBIA, S.C. -- South Carolina defensive lineman Ladi Ajiboye faces a marijuana possession after Richland County Sheriff's investigators say he was took part in a drug deal.
Gamecocks coach Steve Spurrier said Tuesday that Ajiboye was suspended indefinitely from the team but did not give a reason
Sheriff's spokesman Lt. Chris Cowan said Friday that Ajiboye was arrested and charged on Feb. 21.
He says the player was booked in the field and released and must appear before a magistrate for the misdemeanor charge.
Ajiboye has not taken part in South Carolina's spring practices. Ajiboye is a sophomore from Riverdale, and has started 22 games.
