More rabies in north Hall County

By B.J. Williams
GAINESVILLE - Animal control officials have confirmed another case of rabies, this time in the northern part of Hall County.

Officials said Friday this latest case involved a skunk that came into contact with two dogs in the Dahlonega Highway area of North Hall. A test at the Georgia Public Health Lab confirmed the skunk was infected with the disease.

Positive alert signs have been posted in the area where the skunk was found.

The Humane Society of Hall County has scheduled its first rabies clinic of the new year for Saturday, April 4, at Jaemor Farms in Lula, from 8:30-12:00. Officials say they are holding it earlier than usual this year because of the rabies epidemic that began last year.
