CLEVELAND - Members of the White County Fire Department volunteers and Arrendale Fire Station 1 firefighters attended a First Responder course conducted by White County Fire Department at their headquarters facility.
The First Responder course totaled 48 hours of book and practical training. There were a total of 15 firefighters that were successful once they challenge the final exam. Those firefighters were:

A first responder is a person who has completed forty to sixty hours of training in providing pre-hospital care for medical emergencies. They have more skill than someone who is trained in basic first aid but they are not emergency medical technicians. The term "first responder" is a general term referring to the first medically trained responder to arrive on scene.
