Barrow Co. crash kills one at Hwy. 316 intersection

STATHAM - A two-vehicle accident in Barrow County injured one person and claimed the life of a Statham woman Monday afternoon.

Officials with the Barrow County Sheriff's Office said the victim was traveling south on Barber Creek Road just after 5 p.m. when her car was struck by a vehicle traveling west on Georgia Highway 316.

Authorities said the victim's name is not being released at this time, and the cause of the accident is unknown. They said there are stop signs, but no traffic lights at the intersection of Ga. Hwy. 316 and Barber Creek Road.

This marks the fourth fatal accident in Barrow County in less than one month.
