UNDATED - A company that builds police cars has set its sights on Georgia... and possibly a location in northeast Georgia.
According to information on its website, Carbon Motors Corporation has narrowed its search for a manufacturing site to five states including Georgia.
The website lists two Georgia cities, Pooler near Savannah and Braselton, as possible bases.
Carbon officials said the so-called corporate campus would cost $350 million to build. In addition, they said the plant would have an initial economic impact of $3 billion dollars, create up to 1,300 direct jobs and thousands more indirectly.
The company is waiting on final proposals from all five states before making a decision.
The other states under consideration are North Carolina, South Carolina, Michigan and Indiana.
