DAWSONVILLE - The economic slump has pushed the Chestatee Regional Library System to adjust its hours.
Stacy Leonhart, the branch manager for the Dawson County Library, said Tuesday all branches of the library will close a half hour early Monday through Thursday, but will actually stay open an hour later Friday and Saturday to accomodate patrons. Many of those patrons are searching for jobs.
"We're finding an increase in usage of the internet for job searches," said Leonhart. "We're hearing more and more of people cancelling their internet access (at home) to save money."
The new hours go into effect Monday, March 16. The Chestatee System encompasses libraries in Dawson and Lumpkin counties.
