ATLANTA - The Georgia Electric Membership Corporation says less than 1,000 customers remain without power as a result of Sunday's winter storm in Georgia.
Spokeswoman Terri Statham said Thursday morning that the 950 remaining outages are in Madison County in northeast Georgia. She says crews have replaced nearly 70 broken power poles since Monday.
At the height of the storm on Monday night, GEMC had 45,000 customers without electricity.
