Former Barrow County school employee charged with molestation

WINDER - A Winder man remains jailed on charges of child molestation.

Barrow Counry Sheriff's investigator Matt Guthas said 55-year-old Michael Lee Womack is a former employee with the Barrow County School system.

"However, our investigation has revealed no connection between the crime and his employment," stated Guthas.

The investigator said he cannot reveal the name of the school where Womack was employed. He said that the sheriff's department has remained in constant communication with the school system about the incident.

The incident in question apparently happened in June 2008, but authorities were not informed of the case until January of this year. Womack was arrested February 9. His bond has been set at $55,000, according to Guthas.
