GAINESVILLE - The Chestatee girls basketball team rebounded from a tough loss to Pickens Tuesday with a solid 46-33 win over Class AAA ninth-ranked Creekview Friday at the Chestatee gym.
The Lady War Eagles (14-8, 8-2 in Region 7A-AAA) used a 12-2 first quarter to open up a quick lead and then held off several runs by the Lady Grizzlies.
Peyton Robertson had another big game with 18 points and 10 rebounds to lead Chestatee. Shelby Bright had eight points and eight rebounds and Chelsea Wilson had five points for the Lady War Eagles.
Chestatee led 22-13 at halftime and then extended the lead to 29-17 heading into the fourth quarter. Creekview fell to 18-6, 7-4 in subregion with the loss.
Chestatee next plays host to subregion leader and Class AAA fifth-ranked Gilmer Tuesday.
