MILWAUKEE - AirTran Airways says it will establish a secondary hub in Milwaukee, in addition to its main hub in Atlanta.
The discount carrier said Tuesday at least 50 pilots and 50 flight attendants will be based in Milwaukee.
AirTran is a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings Inc., headquartered in Orlando, Fla.
AirTran Airways said earlier this month it expects to post record profit this year. An executive says the airline has been helped by its low-cost structure and strong growth in revenues from fees for things like checked baggage.
Shares of AirTran Holdings fell 8 cents, or 2 percent, to $5.12 in Tuesday morning trading.
