Hooper to be feted at Friday reception

GAINESVILLE - A reception is planned Friday afternoon for retiring Gainesville Police Chief Frank Hooper.

A City Hall spokeswoman confirmed Monday it will be at the Gainesville Civic Center from 3:00-5:00 and will be open to the public.

Hooper announced Nov. 5 that he plans to retire at the end of the year after eleven years on the job and 32 years with the Gainesville Police Department.
