Election ends in a tie... again

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
MARTIN - Will the third time be the charm? That's what elections officials and the people in Martin, Ga., must be asking themselves.

When all the votes had been counted Tuesday night in the runoff between Roger Looney and Mike Teasley for a city council seat in the Stephens County town... they were tied - for the second time in a month, each with 24 votes.

Tuesday's election was held because Looney and Teasley each wound up with 32 votes during the November 3rd election.

So, elections officials say they'll try again on December 29.
