FBHS student wins Jackson EMC Energy Bowl

FLOWERY BRANCH - Flowery Branch High School is home to this year's first-place winner in the Jackson EMC Energy Bowl Academic Challenge.

Jake Jacob topped representatives of 19 achools in northeast Georgia and wins a $2,000 scholarship and an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C.

In addition, $1,000 grant goes to Flowery Branch High.

It's the first time a student at Flowery Branch High School has won the Jackson Electric Membership Corporation-sponsored contest.

In addition to Jacob, there were four other finalists: Crystal Perkins, Gwinnett School of Math, Science & Technology; John Brawley, runner-up from Grayson High School; Tyler Stephens, North Hall High School; and Natalie Dixon, Hebron Christian Academy.
