Recycling even Saturday

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
GAINESVILLE - If you have some old stuff sitting around the house you've been intending to get rid of, Saturday's your chance.

Hall County is teaming up with Keep Hall Beautiful to collect recyclables from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the farmers market in Rabbittown at Exit 24.

They'll be looking for everything from "gently worn shoes" to eyeglasses to electronics.

There is no charge, except for television sets. It'll cost $10 to leave a TV with the other recyclables.

There also will be mobile shredding available with a limit of four boxes per household (no businesses, please).

"Hall County has been a leader in initiating the reduction of solid waste through recycling, and we are dedicated to furthering recycling efforts through these types of events," Natural Resources Coordinator Rick Foote said.
