Men wanted in attempted robbery still at large

GAINESVILLE - The search continues for two men wanted for an attempted armed early Friday in Gainesville.

Lt. Carol Martin of the Gainesville Police Department says officers got the call about 8:00 to Pro-Tech Automotive on Summit Street.

Lt. Martin says the 62-year-old victim said two men - one of them armed with a pistol - approached him outside the place and demanded his money. The victim says he was able to get inside the building but the suspects followed him. Martin says the man told police that once inside, he "swung an item at the suspects resulting in the suspects leaving. Suspects were last seen running towards Myrtle Street."

Martin says tracking dogs were brought in and trailed the pair to Kenwood Park "where the track was lost. "

The suspects are described as:

Hispanic Male
Height: 6'02
Slender with a shaved head
Wearing a grey sweatsuit and tennis shoes
Age: Early 20s

Hispanic Male
Height 5'10"
Stocky
Wearing checked button up shirt
Full moustache
Age: Early 20s
