Atlanta cops to patrol some college campuses

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA - Atlanta Police Chief Richard Pennington said uniformed officers will patrol some of the city's college campuses after a string of attacks on students.

Pennington made the announcement Tuesday after a Morehouse College student was shot in the arm and robbed around 1 a.m as he walked home from the campus library. Pennington said the unidentified student was released from Grady Memorial Hospital on Tuesday morning.

Two Georgia Tech students were robbed over the weekend as they walked near campus and a Spelman College student was killed Sept. 3 by a stray bullet on Clark Atlanta University's campus.

Pennington said four uniformed officers will patrol Georgia Tech and four more will patrol the Atlanta University Center, which includes Morehouse, Spelman and Clark Atlanta.
