GAINESVILLE - The theme was offense in Week 6 of the prep football season, especially in Region 7-AAA.
Flowery Branch piled up more than 500 yards of offense in a 62-14 rout of West Hall while Creekview rebounded from its dismal showing last week against North Hall in a 51-14 blowout of Johnson.
And speaking of North Hall, the Trojans whipped rival White County 38-0 while Class AAA No. 1 Gainesville started slow but finished strong in taking a 34-0 win over West Forsyth.
In other Region 7-AAA action, Chestatee used its defense to shutout Lumpkin County in the second half of a 19-7 win on the road.
In Region 8-AA, East Jackson remained undefeated after a 21-6 win over Banks County and No. 7 Jefferson overcame a sluggish performance to beat Riverside Military Academy 27-0 on the road. Union County snapped a three-game losing streak with a come-from-behind 28-24 win over Fannin County.
Class AA No. 4 Buford exploded for 27 fourth quarter points to take a 41-0 win over Avondale in Region 6-AA while No. 3 Lovett fell to Westminster 21-6.
Habersham Central saw its two game win streak come to an end in a 35-6 loss to Madison County in Region 8-AAAA play.
