White Co. school evacuated

CLEVELAND - Students at White County Intermediate School had to be evacuated just before 11:00 Friday morning when a small electrical fire started in the kitchen area of the school. White County Fire Chief Dickie Howard said fire was in the cooler area of the kitchen and was caused when a heat strip malfunctioned.

Some students were in the lunchroom area practicing on the stage area and were evacuated immediately. The remainder of the students followed the procedure they have practiced before for this type of situation.
