OPEN: Balus Creek Boat Ramp

GAINESVILLE - The Balus Creek Boat Ramp, located off Mountain View Road, will open for public use on Saturday.

Through a collaborative effort between Hall County and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the boat ramp has been extended using a coffer dam method to allow the ramp to remain well below current water surface elevations. This method allows for the ramp to be open for use by the public immediately, rather than waiting for lake levels to rise.

Surveying and design work for the ramp extension was performed by the Hall County Engineering Division. Simpson Trucking and Grading handled construction of the ramp, through contract with the County. Parking lot repairs were performed by the Hall County Road Maintenance Division.
