KNOXVILLE -- New University of Tennessee football coach Lane Kiffin better hope his tenure in Knovxille goes well -- because he'll never be able to separate himself from that name now.
Kiffin's wife, Layla, gave birth to a baby boy on Tuesday in California who has been named Monte Knox Kiffin.
The baby is 21 inches long and weighs 8 pounds, 8 ounces, Tennessee Athletics represenative Tiffany Carpenter told Knoxville station WVLT-TV.
Carpenter says the boy will go by "Knox," a reference to Knoxville. He also has the name of his grandfather, Monte Kiffin, the former NFL coach who is the Vols' defensive coordinator.
The Kiffins have two daughters, Landry and Presley (named after Tom Landry and Elvis Presley).
