Opinion: Dogs regressing under Felton

Dennis Felton made quite an impression on me the first time I met him. Speaking at a Gainesville Jaycees luncheon a few years ago, the coach was confident and erudite as he laid out what sounded like a solid plan on how to rebuild a Bulldogs basketball program mired in mediocrity and still tainted from the Jim Harrick scandal.

In short, I came away with little doubt as to why he was hired for the job and genuinely wanted him to succeed.

That hope continued through the past few seasons despite some stumbles -- both on and off the court -- for Feltonâ
