Rudolph's Restaurant closes

GAINESVILLE - A longtime fixture on Gainesville's historic Green Street is closing its doors.

The answering machine at Rudolph's Restaurant left this message for callers Tuesday afternoon: "Rudolph's Restaurant is no longer open for business. Thank you to those who dined with us regularly. We did appreciate your business."

Rudoph's Restaurant, located in the historic Dixon Rudolph house, is just the latest in a number of businesses and restaurants in the area closing during these tougher economic times.
