UGA Graduate School has record enrollment of 7,125

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) Preliminary figures show the University of Georgia Graduate School will have a record enrollment this semester with 7,125 students.

The university said on Monday it would break a record set in the fall of 2007.
The school said the enrollment showed a 5.6 percent increase in black graduate students and a 9.6 percent increase in Hispanic graduate students.

There also was a record number of applications this year. The school has seen a 22 percent increase in enrollment since 2000.
