Buford grad Roper could miss four weeks at Oregon

By The Associated Press
EUGENE, Ore. -- Seventeenth-ranked Oregon has lost quarterback Justin Roper for up to four weeks with a partially torn ligament in his left knee. Roper, a former standout at Buford High, suffered the injury late in the overtime win against Purdue Saturday.

Roper got the starter's job just before the season opener against Washington when Nate Costa suffered a knee injury that's expected to keep him out for the season.

The 3-0 Ducks host Boise State on Saturday and are expected to use backup Jeremiah Masoli and true freshman Chris Harper at quarterback.
