A good card player better be sure of what he is betting on before he raises the stakes. Making a bet on knee jerk reactions or not being attentive to the odds can be very costly. Those who are successful pay close attention to everything that has happened, looking and knowing every card that has been dealt, and knowing exactly what cards are still left in the deck. While the art of card playing is an uncertain science at best, there is a reason why some players are more successful than others. When it is a bad hand, it is a bad hand. There is no need to try and keep it alive just because you would like to see it become a winner. If it is time to fold them, refusing to do so will result in another loss.
That is where we find ourselves with our current driving laws, particularly when it comes to the age old debate about how old one should be before they begin driving. As many kids who are approaching their sixteenth birthday will tell you, or will yell to you, sixteen is the current age for obtaining a driver's license in most states (including Georgia). Many states who think that sixteen is too young to drive have already changed their driving age, and for that very reason and many others, several other states are looking closely at their driving laws as well. Some have come to the conclusion that allowing sixteen year old kids to drive is a hand that definitely needs to fold.
One might think that changing the law to an age over sixteen is a no-brainer. Obviously, those kids who are approaching the magic age will kick and scream and throw an old fashion tantrum at the thoughts of having to wait later to obtain their driver's license. We expect it from them. That is sometimes the way kids react to things that don't necessarily go their way. After all, that is part of the problem
