Romney, Rice VP choice of two NE Ga. RNC delegates

By Ken Stanford Contributing Editor
GAINESVILLE - Who should John McCain pick as his running mate? We put that question to two northeast Georgians who will be delegates to the Republican National Convention next week.

Bettye Chambers, the lone Hall Countian who'll be in Minneapolis-St. Paul, is sure of her choice.

"I think my first choice would probably be Governor (Mitt) Romney (of Massachusetts)," Chambers said Wednesday during a taping of Northeast Georgia This Week, a weekly public affairs program that airs on WDUN NEWS TALK 550 and SPORTS RADIO 1240 THE TICKET on Sundays.

Josh Turner, chairman of the White County Republican Party, at first didn't seem to want to commit to one person or another but finally said "if I could pick one person, I don't think that she would accept the vice president nomination, that would be Condaleeza Rice. I think that she would be a phenomenal vice president.

Northeast Georgia This Week is broadcast at 6:05 Sunday mornings on WDUN NEWS TALK 550 and at 9:05 Sunday mornings on SPORTS RADIO 1240 THE TICKET.
