Softball: West Hall routs Johnson in 7-AAA opener (8/19)

OAKWOOD -- Emily Hammond pitched a perfect game to lead the West Hall girls softball team to a 23-0, three-inning rout of Johnson Tuesday in both teams' Region 7B-AAA opener.

Hammond retired all nine batters she faced for the Lady Spartans, who improved to 6-1 on the season.

West Hall only had five hits and Johnson pitchers walked more than a dozen batters to go with half-a-dozen errors.

Johnson (0-1) plays host to Chestatee on Thursday while West Hall is off until traveling to Chestatee next Tuesday.
