Classes begin Thurs. in 7 Gainesville area school districts

UNDATED - Thursday is the big day for school openings in the Gainesville area.

That's when seven systems open the doors for the new school year: Gainesville, Commerce and Buford city systems and Hall, Jackson, White and Lumpkin counties.

On Friday, schools open in Banks and Habersham counties.

Several new schools are among those that will be opening Thursday and Friday. (See separate story.)
