LAVONIA - The Lavonia city manager said Friday the city will sell the property near I-85 that was once home to a restaurant that featured topless female servers.
The city bought the tract earlier this week for about a million dollars following years of complaints about Cafe Risque, and closed it immediately.
City manager Gary Fesperman says they bought Cafe Risque, immediately shut the business down and put the property up for sale.
"We were in hopes that one day it would go away as fast as it came," City Manager Gary Fesperman said Friday.
Fesperman says the city burned the signs that had dotted the Interstate advertising the place and did so to make a statement.
"Trying to, absolutely," Fesperman added.
