BLUE RIDGE - A Northeast Georgia man is facing a felony dogfighting charge, and authorities say he was operating an influential dogfighting ring.
Authorities raided Albert Glenn White's kennel in Blue Ridge on Thursday and say they found 22 pit bulls, three dogfighting pits and ``suspected dogfighting paraphernalia.''

Laura Bevan, director of the U.S. Humane Society's Southeast regional office, says the pit bulls were thin and have scars consistent with dogfighting.
Blue Ridge is about 70 miles north of Atlanta, near the North Carolina border.

It was the site of a cockfighting ring that drew up to 300 people every Saturday night until it was shut down by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in 2005.
