ATLANTA (AP) No damage has been reported after a weak earthquake shook parts of northwest Georgia.
The U.S. Geological Survey shows the 2.8-magnitude quake about 7:30 p.m. Monday was centered about 13 miles northeast of Dalton, and about 85 miles northwest of Atlanta.
The Geological Survey had received only two reports early Tuesday from residents who felt the earthquake.
Five years ago, a mild earthquake measuring 4.9 magnitude and centered near Fort Payne, Ala., was felt throughout north Georgia, including metro Atlanta.
