State police and fire games return

GAINESVILLE - The Georgia Police and Fire Games are back in Gainesville this week.

There are fewer participants this time around, however.

Local organizers blame the lower turnout on the economy and high gasoline prices.

This is the third year Hall County has hosted the event, which involves competition among firefighters and law enforcement from all over the state in various sports, as well as work-related activities.
