This time, Paul Pierce picked up his teammates.One game after being carried off the floor following a scary-looking knee injury, the Celtics forward scored 28 points to lead Boston. Pierce also came through with a key block in the final minute when the Celtics needed it. He also contributed eight assists and four rebounds.
Forward Leon Powe gave the Celtics a spark with 21 points in 15 minutes off the bench. Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen each had 17. Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 30 for the Lakers.
The series moves to the West Coast for Game 3 Tuesday night at Staples Center.
