PALO ALTO, Calif. - The SEC saw two of its members ousted from the NCAA Baseball Championships Saturday.
Arkansas was held to just one run in an elimination game against Stanford at the NCAA Stanford Regional as the Cardinal knocked out the Razorbacks with a 5-1 win.
Arkansas (34-24) was the No. 3 seed at the regional and ends its season with the loss to Stanford (34-22-2) the host and No. 1 seed.
Meanwhile, in Tallahassee Regional, Florida State unleashed a season-high 25-hit attack on Florida to stave off elimination with a 17-11 NCAA Regional win Saturday.
Florida's first postseason appearance in three years came to an end when the Gators (34-24) could not hold a 5-1 lead after three innings.
In other action for SEC schools Saturday in the NCAA tournament, LSU moved to within one game of advancing to a Super Regional after routing Southern Miss 13-4; Ole Miss stayed alive in the Miami Regional with a 14-1 win over Bethune-Cookman; Kentucky beat Eastern Michigan 4-3 in the Ann Arbor Regional; and Vanderbilt beat Stony Brook 9-4 in the Tempe Regional to stay alive.
N.C. State handed South Carolina its first loss with a 5-4 win over the Gamecocks in the Raliegh Regional and Alabama was sent to the loser's bracket in the Conway, S.C. Regional after a 13-10 loss to Coastal Carolina.
