CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- NASCAR has handed out its most severe penalties to members of two teams owned by Hass-CNC Motorsports.
The crew chiefs for Scott Riggs and Johnny Sauter have been suspended for six races each for tampering with the rear wings of their Chevrolets last week at Lowe's Motor Speedway.
Bootie Barker and Dave Skog have also been fined $100,000 each. Car chiefs Derick Jennings and Thomas Harris were also suspended for six races. Riggs and Sauter were each docked 150 points in the drivers' standings.
The team is widely thought to be for sale and Tony Stewart has acknowledged he's received an offer to buy the organization.
