OXFORD, Miss. - It was a night for home runs at Swayze Field on Friday, but none bigger than freshman Tim Ferguson's three-run walk-off home run that propelled Ole Miss (32-19, 13-12 SEC) to a 7-6 win over Auburn (26-24, 10-15 SEC) in the series opener.
Matt Smith and Michael Guerrero came up with back-to-back singles to open the inning before Ferguson came to the plate two batters later and hit the three-run shot to left center to secure the Rebel victory.
Ole Miss starter Lance Lynn struck out 11 batters on the night
