Colorado-based team wins Tour de Georgia's fourth stage

By The Associated Press
BRASELTON, Ga. - Slipstream-Chipotle, the Colorado-based team that features two veteran Tour de France riders, captured the fourth stage by nearly 3.5 seconds.

Race leader Greg Henderson of New Zealand increased his race lead Thursday at the Tour de Georgia.

Paced by David Zabriskie of Salt Lake City, Utah, Slipstream-Chipotle completed the 10 mile, four-loop course at Road Atlanta in 19 minutes and 38.86 seconds.

A team time trial, in which a squad races together against the clock, had not been held in a major stage race in the United States since the 1993 Tour DuPont.

Henderson, whose Team High Road squad finished third, began the fourth stage with a nine-second lead over Tyler Farrar of Wenatchee, Washington. But Farrar fell to 69th place, trailing by almost two minutes.

The 529-mile race continues Friday with the 133.4 mile Suwanee to Dahlonega road race, the longest stage of the seven-day race. The sixth annual event concludes Sunday with a 62.7 mile circuit race Sunday in Atlanta.
