ATLANTA - Mike Jacobs hit a two-run homer and Hanley Ramirez added a solo shot to power the Florida Marlins to a 7-2 win over the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night.
Florida's Dan Uggla went 3-for-5, including a two-run triple in the ninth.
The Marlins jumped on Atlanta starter Jeff Bennett (0-1) for three runs in the first inning on the leadoff home run by Ramirez and Jacobs followed with his two-run shot after a single by Josh Willingham as Florida won for the fourth time in five games. It was the seventh home run for each player.
The Marlins added two runs one unearned in the eighth.
Uggla singled with one out and took third on a double to right by Jeremy Hermida. Willingham then grounded to shortstop Yunel Escobar, whose throw home hit a sliding Uggla at the plate for an error. Jacobs' long fly ball to left off Blaine Boyer scored Hermida.
Bennett pitched well after the first, holding Florida scoreless for the next five innings. He allowed six hits, three runs, walked one and struck out four and left trailing 3-2 after six innings.
Meanwhile, the Braves scored an unearned run in the first when Escobar reached on Ramirez' error, took second on a single by Chipper Jones and scored on a single by Mark Teixeira off Marlins starter Andrew Miller (1-2).
Miller pitched five innings and gave up nine hits, two walks and didn't strike out any.
Atlanta got within 3-2 in the second on a solo home run by Matt Diaz, but left nine runners on base off the left-hander in the first four innings.
The Braves wound up leaving 13 runners on base.
Teixeira left five runners on. He bounced out with the bases loaded and two outs in the second and again in the fourth with runners at first and second and two outs.
Kelly Johnson, Teixeira, Brian McCann and Diaz each had two hits apiece for the Braves. Alfredo Amezaga had two hits for the Marlins.
