Fire destroys mobile home off Browns Bridge Road

GAINESVILLE - An early morning fire completely destroyed a mobile home on Waldrip Drive off Browns Bridge Road Saturday morning.

Hall County Fire Marshal Scott Cagle said the call came in around 4:30 a.m. and estimated around $10,000 in damage to the structure.

"When we arrived the structure was already fully involved and the single-occupant was already outside," Cagle said. "The man said he woke up smelling smoke and called 911 before he got out."

Cagle also said no firefighters were injured fighting the blaze, which took about 30 minutes to extinguish.

Cagle said the cause of the fire is still under investigation, but that initial reports say it was accidental in nature, possibly electrical.
