GAINESVILLE - West Forsyth won its third straight game Wednesday beating Chestatee 5-1 in Region 7-AAA baseball action and moved within two games of fourth place in the region standings.
The Wolverines (9-9, 8-7 in region) got a solid effort from Brodie Orr on the mound, who went the distance allowing just four hits in the complete-game win. West Forsyth trails White County and North Hall by two games with six games left. The top four teams in the region move on to the state tournament.
Kevin Clifford took the loss for Chestatee.
West Forsyth scored two runs in the third and added three more in the sixth. Chestatee got its lone run in the bottom of the sixth but could get no closer.
Chris Arnett had two hits and two RBI for West Forsyth. Michael Moch had a triple and one RBI for the Wolverines.
Joey Swizer had two hits and Matt Odle had a hit and one RBI for the War Eagles (2-15, 1-13).
West Forsyth next will play host to Pickens while Chestatee travels to Ivey Watson to play gainesville on Friday.
