Braves meet Marlins to wrap up road trip

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA -- A series at the Florida Marlins will wrap up an 11-day road trip for the Atlanta Braves, who were off yesterday after winning two out of three in Washington.

Atlanta starter Tom Glavine left with an injury before recording an out Sunday, and the Nationals ended a nine-game losing streak by holding on to edge the Braves 5-4.

Glavine (0-1) matched the shortest start of his 22-season, 303-win career. He left with a strained right hamstring after letting all four batters he faced reach base.

Glavine is listed as day-to-day. He has never been on the disabled list before. He said that after having the strain checked by team trainer Jeff Porter, he feels more optimistic than he did Sunday.

The only other time Glavine had to leave a game without getting an out was in May 1989, when he had an ankle sprain.
