ATHENS, Ga. (AP) Georgia extended its Southeastern Conference winning streak to eight games today, erasing a 4-3 deficit in the seventh inning by scoring on a wild pitch and infield single on the way to a 6-4 victory over Kentucky.
Matt Olson singled and scored the tying run with two outs when James Paxton (3-1) had the wild pitch. The Bulldogs (23-12, 12-3 SEC) went ahead on Lyle Allen's infield single that scored Rich Poythress, who had walked.
Kentucky (26-8, 7-8) got swept in a three-game SEC series for the first time since 2005.
Gordon Beckham, the SEC leader in home runs, hit a two-run shot for Georgia, his 16rh.
Sawyer Carroll and Ryan Wilkes each homered for the Wildcats. the 10th for Carroll and the fifth for Wilkes.
Dean Weaver (1-1) got the victory with three scoreless innings in relief and Joshua Fields recorded his 10th save of the season and 33rd of his career with a scoreless ninth.
