GAINESVILLE - The Chestatee girls soccer team stayed alive in the very rugged Region 7-AAA playoff race after taking a tough 1-0 win over Lumpkin County Friday night at Chestatee Stadium.
It was a near must-win for Chestatee (5-6-0, 2-1-0 in region) after dropping a 2-1 decision to Gainesville 2-1 on Thursday.
Megan Fligg netted one of her five shots on goal in the first half for the game's only score. She had half of Chestatee's 10 shots on goal. Sarah Brothers recorded her third shut-out for the season with three saves in goal.
The Lady Indians (4-7-0, 2-4-0) managed just three shots for the game.
