Forsyth Co. prepares for Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitor Center opening

Forsyth County officials are planning a big opening for the Sawnee Mountain Preserve Visitor Center on March 15.

Forsyth County spokesperson Jodi Gardner said they have several events planned for the grand opening.

"There will be everything from a 5K trail run in the morning, to a birds of prey show, and tree climbing throughout the day," Gardner said.

Gardner said the Visitors Center will feature exhibits and a classroom, and will also serve as the home to the Forsyth County Parks and Recreation's Outdoor Division.
