TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama defensive lineman Jeremy Elder admitted robbing two students at gunpoint Saturday night, according to sworn testimony reported Tuesday by the Press-Register.

Elder, a 19-year-old who was redshirted last season, was arrested Sunday night and charged with two counts of felony first-degree robbery.

The Mobile paper said a deposition filed Tuesday in district court by authorities said Elder ``admitted to committing the robbery.''

Chief Deputy Harry Montgomery said Elder was being held Tuesday on bond of $60,000, which was reduced from $120,000. He said he had no information on whether Elder has a lawyer.

The newspaper said the student alleging Elder robbed him of $26 at gunpoint Saturday night identified the Crimson Tide football player Sunday on video security footage taken at Bryant Hall, the athletic dorm. Court filings alleged that the suspect, wearing a checkered white and black baseball cap with the letter ``A,'' headed toward the rear of Bryant Hall after the robbery.
Elder, a freshman from College Park, Ga., has been suspended indefinitely from all football-related activities.
