Cumming man killed instantly in Forsyth County wreck

CUMMING - A Butler, Ga., man faces numerous charges resulting from a fatal traffic accident in Forsyth County Friday afternoon.

Timothy Shane Spradley, 34, ran a red light at the intersection of Bethelview Road and Kelly Mill Road and hit a Toyota Celica broadside on the driver's side.

"The driver of the Toyota was killed instantly," Forsyth County Sheriff's Capt. Frank Huggins said. "The truck driver was not injured."

Huggins identified the driver of the Toyota as Mika Paananen, 39, of Cumming.

Spradley was arrested and charged with second degree vehicular homicide, failure to obey a traffic control device, operating an unsafe vehicle and operation of a vehicle without a current inspection decal. Spradley also was charged with not having a current medical card on his person.
